Pre-Party Planning Made Easy

Shower Flowers

Very cute Todd is marrying even cuter Monica.  Click on this link to see what they look like.  So, Sunday, I am hosting a bridal shower here for Monica.  Todd’s sister Tobi (also Monica’s close friend) is actually putting the whole shower together for Monica, and I am going to make the food & drink.

Pre-Planning

Pre-Baking Mini Quiche Shells

1. Decide what to serve.  After going thru recipes, both on-line & in my recipe files and thinking about the time of the shower (3 PM so it was between meals), here’s what I came up with.

2. The drink was easy (Mimosa).  I wanted sparkling wine to reflect the air of celebration that this party was going to convey.  (hopefully)  To make it special, I’m going to use Champagne flutes with orange sugar coated rims.

Here’s the sparkling wine we’re going to be drinking.  I got Extra Dry because the tangerine juice (that’s what I got instead of OJ for the added punch of flavor) is so sweet.

3. Then I made my grocery list and got everything that I needed to start cooking.

4. I did a day by day list of what could be pre-prepared each day up to the actual Bridal Shower.  I made and stored as much as possible in advance.

The night before the shower, Tobi came over and made some amazing Ginger-Lemon Cupcakes.

Serving Platters

That night I set out all my serving dishes with a note to myself about what food goes in which platter.

By the time Sunday arrived, I easily had time to go to church and do the last few remaining tasks before the guests arrived.

Sigh…..pre-planning makes parties easy.
